Like we will say in French, there is certain “OBJETS DE DÉSIR” that we always been looking for. One of them could be that famous and iconic gloves that Karl Lagerfeld always wear, as iconic as his own pony tail or sunglasses.
Who is in charge of create that unique pieces, considered more like jewels than like accessories? The answer is: The Maison Causse.
The Maison Causse was based in Millau, France in 1892. During the 1950s, Jean Causse, the founder’s son, diversified business and began the manufacture of gloves.
After several periods of recession, on 2006 the company opened a new factory and following year, Causse opened his first Parisian boutique on rue de Castiglione, in the neighborhood of the Place Vendome.
In 2012, Chanel acquired the glove Company as part of its Paraffection project (to preserve France’s traditional d’art).
Yazbukey is well known by their extraordinary poppy vision of fashion did for their part some collaborations with Kerastase, Zac Possen, Maison Darré or Chanel x Colette between others.
The collaboration consists of three pairs of black leather gloves; built around their three key motifs from Yazbuyey’s world: Eyes, mouth and fingers (Without any doubt the capsule adds a touch of pop modernity to the house.)
Each pair comes in a Plexiglas box inspired by the glove boxes of the thirties. Perfect to be used as CLUTCH?
Apart of those collaborations, Maison Causse is in charge of hancraft the gloves of Chanel Ready-to-Wear collections.
