It’s easy to spot here and there some Camo print every season, but for this season the military print has invaded everything from menswear to handbags. In some ways camo could be considered a classic print, for example a camo army jacket will never go out of style.
HOW TO WEAR CAMO:
When I think about camo print I usually like to pair it with more feminine pieces, for example a camo-oversized jacket with a vintage dress. Because camo ads by itself a grunge touch to a feminine outfit. But if for your is too risky you can try with camouflage accessories such as print clutch, scarf…would be a fun addition for sure.
And of course if you are not a fan of your typical khaki camouflage print you can try with camouflage print in a range of unexpected colours.
The only rule if you plan to wear camo is : DON’T WEAR IT HEAD-TO-TOE. Camo is great on everything from jeans, jackets to dresses to bags, but limit yourself to one camo piece at time if you are not going hunting in the woods.
Camo can be the perfect tomboy answer to floral prints (that we are all already maybe too much overdosed.)
But not everything is black or white. One of my favorite proposals was the one by Bluegirl at Milano Fashion Week. Perfect mix between sequins, camo, flowers and denim. And all in a beautiful layer.
Valentino rediscovered Camo with a new pattern we could call “Psychedelic Camo” full of neon colors and rockstudded. Handbags are a real statement this SS15. Sacai mixed graphics with camo for their SS15 menswear collection, inspired in a kind of streetwear-active wear collection.
Want to stand out? Try camouflage. It’s truly a runaway trend.
