Last goodbye to Madame Carven.
Last goodbye to Madame Carven.

Today the icon and benchmark for several generations of designers have been dismissed at the age of 105. She was helming her house from 1945 to 1993 and after 40 years designing couture and ready-to-wear with that Chic Parisian elegance she left the company. She was one of the most prominent female figures in Paris fashion, along with Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli.

Her work had a huge impact on the fashion world. She opened her first store at Champs-Élysées in 1945, and between her inovations we can speak about the Lady Silhouette or the white stripes cotton dress and how to forget the “Green Carven” (Same as we have Red Valentino or Blue Klein)

What some people ignore is she patented the original idea for the push-up bra.  She was a strong role women very confident even her short height. She always laughed saying “If you are short you can’t wear black and large prints. Look at my height! “
She left Carven on Guillaume Henry hands taking the control of creative direction of the House until 2015, when the designer duo from Iceberg, Alexis and Adrien Martial Caillaudaud, took the new step.

Between carven lovers we can find stars like Alexa Chung, Dree Hemingway and Emma Stone.
