Gingham is not new at all. The name “Gingham” originates from Malay adjective genggang, meaning striped and was imported into Europe since 17th century but Gingham became famous when Brigitte Bardot famously wore a pink gingham dress when she got married then it started as a trend in France.
After start to be a trend in France the trend came to England where it have been worn by mods and fans of indie music, and later pin up inspired dresses. Gingham most famous fact is Gingham has no right or wrong side with respect to color, coloring is on the warp yarns and always along the grain.
This season Gingham is a must, it claimed New York Fashion Week SS15 as its own. We saw Gingham in Altuzarra, Diane von Fustenberg, Oscar de la Renta or Michael Kors.

How to wear Gingham:
If you want to show your RAWR sides you have try it in a pencil skirt.
Or, spring your look and try something more sophisticated try it on in a midi skirt and neutral sweater. (That’s our favorite look)
You can wear it monochrome (B&W) as a basic, or pastel blue and pink for a shot of sweetness.
You can try to mix Gingham with different prints like flower print or dots. It looks amazing and really fresh.
