Girls are here to rock or not? SS15 is quite unpredictable. It started with darker palettes and impossible looks to vintage fabrics.
Who should wear Vintage Rock? You can take a cue of supermodel Cara Delevingne she always look fab!
The easier way is get a leather mini-skirt or pair of leather leggings and pair it with your favorite band tshirt or sequins. But you can try with sequin dresses and biker jackets or a total black look with animal print strokes. And even you can try sporting your look with crop top and military boots.
But remember this season Vintage Rock cames like a “Girl Revolution” don’t put any limits and enjoy your look, if you feel confident enough… try mixing retro floral print with camo like Heidi Slimane did for Saint Laurent. Gorgeous!
The trend started with the Rock Glam inspired collection of Heidi Slimane for Saint Laurent SS15. It was a revolution, sequined jackets, turbans, halter tops and dresses were full of lurex, metallic and shiny leopard prints. To introduce the collection Slimane used floral motifs.
Our crush from Saint Laurent is the cherry printed one shouldered dress showcased to open the catwalk. Just stunning!
But before Saint Laurent 70s we have to speak about rock-and-roll Tommy Hilfiger show “The fest girl” based on 60s free-spirit hippie girl. It felt even British sometimes more than American.
The look is so glamorous with a clear vintage rock influence inspired by his favorite’s iconic musicians of the late 60s and early 70s. It was full of tailoring, embellished concert tees, vintage buttons and brocade on band jackets.
We felt in love with the translucent washed silk chiffon dresses showcased at mid show.
And if it’s time to go WIIILD you can’t miss TOM FORD. I am a huge fan of Tom Ford but this season was maybe too much. We are already too used to super-sexual looks made by him every season. Platforms, mini dresses, sequined harnesses and metallic hues and that “been-up-all-night spiky hair”.
But it was so inside this VINTAGE ROCK trend and you can’t miss it.
